Let us introduce ourselves
In 2014 we reopened the doors to the Jägerhof after taking over this well-established North Shore restaurant from the previous owners who happily went into retirement after a long and successful 33 year run. As German kids growing up in North Van, we went with our families to the Jägerhof over the years and when it came up for sale we knew it was the right fit for us. Over the past years we’ve laughed, we’ve cried, we’ve made mistakes and learned from them and we’ve poured our love of German/Austrian/Swiss food and culture into this humble little restaurant. We’re not hip or cool, fancy or pretentious but we love our little piece of Alpine Europe here in North Van and hope it shows. We have stayed true to the original décor, added live music nights (come see our 125 year old piano, old guitar jazz and traditional accordion and guitar music) and have expanded the menu to showcase the delicious regional specialities one finds in Germany/Austria/Switzerland and South Tyrol.
We would like to thank each and every guest who comes through our doors, we thank our wonderful, dedicated staff who have taken this journey together with us and we thank all of the many, many regulars who continue to come and spend their time with us. We are humbled and thankful every single day and hope to continue to bring a little piece of Europe to this beautiful city.
